  • Dear friends, I'm here for the first time!!
I was so exited to see the forum of English!!
Ectually, I don't realy know, who visits this forum. I mean, I don't know if you, guys, live in the US or just really love English, like I do......
So, the thing I want to tell you about, is FLEX. FLEX- is a program for 15-17 years old students, who know English pretty well. You,folks, can take part in the English competition for free. You can ask your teachers about this competiton. There are four parts in it. A couple of the winners will go to America like an exchange students!!.....I think, that it's a great opportunity to improve your English. A lot of students in Novosibirsk take part in this competition every year.
I did it the last year......And I won.....So,now I am in the US.......American Goverment payed for everything.....And I will stay here for one year.....
so, If anybody is interested in it, I can answer some questions, if there are any.....:улыб:

  • В ответ на: I did it the last year......And I won.....So,now I am in the US.......American Goverment payed for everything.....
Good for you...whereabouts in the US are you? Hopefully, not in Utah:улыб::)

  • Givi:
    thank you......:улыб:
I'm in Washington state.......in Spokane city.......
    and.........why don't you like Utah?!?!?!.....
P.S. do you live in the US??.....or.....have you ever been in the US??.....

  • spokane,wa on i90 on the way to "opportunity" from seattle... uhh.. why not in seattle or at least if not in portland... would be rather more things to look around besides mountains:улыб:

good luck and like the name of my faivorite dm song...."enjoy the silence":улыб:

Well, Utah itself is very picturesque, it's that people who live there are mostly Mormons. Thus, for example, it's almost impossible to find coffee in Utah supermarkets (Mormons think it's a sin or something, apparently). Plus, the family that you are likely to end up in this state will probably also be Mormons...with their specific lifestyle, to say the least:улыб:

I currently spend my time between NYC and Toronto (got worksites at both places).

  • Next time you're in Toronto - drop me a line. I am currently studying in the University of Toronto.
    Take care!

  • I am really glad that you are interested in it.You can ask your teachers, friends, the people, who are involved in English clubs.I will ask a couple of my friends, who are going to take part in it.......and write the information here........
When were you born!!..........I am asking, because the people of certain age can take part in it.

  • i'll be grateful for the information. though it's not for me but for my friend's daughter. she is about 15 y.o. and her mom is eager to send the daughter out the country (Russia):улыб:

  • Hey Koshka! That’s really cool you have won the competition! I guess it was extremely difficult! You know, I also take part in that kind of program but for students called “Freedom Support Act Undergraduate Program”, I’ve already passed my application form and essays and now I only have to wait:) So what about your living and studying in the US? What is it like? And do you like it? (he he I guess you do!) Missing home? How long will you stay there, I mean when will you come back home??
Sorry for loads of questions, I’m just really interested in it!

  • Could you please specify the age group of participants? I'm interested in such an opportunity. Or could you give some links at any site on this topic, if there are any?

    Best regards
